You're already at 90F at 11:45am, and the sea breeze is, as of yet, still missing. Even at the Newport Beach station, the breeze is gusting in the single digits, and they've peaked around 84. There is still time for it to make a substantial push to UCI, but allll the way to your house? We'll see! I hope, cuz it's damn hot out.

[...] See Mike’s nice summary of the perfect October rain event. Overnight lows were held to 50°F in Irvine thanks to plenty of moisture in the air and overnight breezes. As the sun rises Thursday morning, the temperature will slowly climb toward the 70s, evaporating the water left from the rains on Wednesday while contributing to small cumulus scattered across the sky. Winds should pickup later Thursday morning/afternoon accelerating the evaporation across the region. As the massive low departs, it will swing around another area of upper-level dynamics through southern California late Thursday night. As of now, we don’t expect any precipitation from this feature due to its land-based trajectory and interactions with topography. However, we will be watching it.
Hi... If you're the son of Mike Tosca, I met him last evening at a business event in Washington (the International Space Station/Mars Exploration Conference). He found out I'm a weather guy (a very serious one!) and told me about his weather guy (also serious) son and sent me a link to your excellent web site. Congratulations and keep up the great work! I hope you're active in the AMS and that we'll maybe see you at our next Annual Meeting in New Orleans in January 2012 and I hope our paths cross. Contact me anytime at jon.malay@lmco.com. Cheers, Jon Malay

I think you have a great site! I appreciate your very accurate predictions. I live about 1km from your Northpark site (Tustin Ranch) and frequently compare your readings to mine.

Keep up the good work.
